Deep Respect

Thoughtful attention to God’s character and capabilities gives us a sense of awe. This naturally inspires a deep respect for God. We believe that respect is the foundation for what some would describe as a beautiful relationship between the creator and the created. This website is committed to a deep respect for God at all times.

Conversely, deficient or defective respect for God leads to problems in the lives of Christians and everyone else.

The Situation

Sorting and organizing content relating to core articles, it became clear we would need a way to discuss God. The discussion will require some challenging questions, and these could appear to some readers as disrespectful to God. There are many verses in The Pentateuch (first five books) where we learn about the magnificence of God. So, how do we discuss Him while maintaining a personal sense of deep respect for Him? Let us review the website’s purpose.

This website is intended to provide ideas for dealing with two challenges Christians may encounter. Both problems affect the Christian’s experience of God. So, God is the primal subject. The choice to represent our subject is a model. From another perspective, we create an abstraction, a theoretical construct of the subject, not a replica. We will provide a list of pertinent attributes when we use a model.

Solution

The model is a conceptual one, based on the characteristics of the subject. Therefore we need more than one model. Our shorthand references to specific models are a few letters described above.

God the Holy Spirit: gds, gs

Conclusion

Given respect for God is a priority, we accept the responsibility to avoid any appearance of disrespect. So, when it fits, we use a model.

Notes / Additional Information

Suppose our subject is a house. Now, consider a model (in the likeness) of the house. From the model, we learn about the subject. We take our model across town to a vacant lot where we build a home based on it. We could state it as follows: The house was instantiated from the model.
